After a sultry summer spent infatuated with one another, time trickles by slowly for a young couple. While they spend the winter in a cabin on Cortes Island, they begin to feel entranced by their wood stove, triggering an experience of the absolute. Their entrancement comes to a head after they read a poem, which forces them to confront their deeply repressed fears. A study of love, darkness, attachment, inner demons, and the power of poetry.
