At the start, I thought this was a sort of hybrid between "Quantum Leap" and "Guardians of the Galaxy" and that it was just going to be derivate nonsense. It's actually quite a bit better than that as we discover the malevolent "Operative" (Chiwitel Ejiofor) is on the trail of a priceless asset. It's not a jewel or a gadget, it's "River" (Summer Glau) and as he closes in on their ship "Serentity", things are starting to get hot for it's captain "Mal" (Nathan Fillion) and the others in this disparate crew.
