Blue Morpho: The Three Act Play journeys through the wilds of Wales, showcasing the central elements of Radiohead member Ed O’Brien’s first solo album in six years. Pivoting around the artist’s intimate meditations on what he terms ‘the dark night of the soul’, the film contours rivers, peaks, and ancient rainforests—all of which became refuge for O’Brien during the album’s composition. As O’Brien realigns himself within the frequencies of the natural world, Monteith showcases how melancholy transforms into beauty, and culminates in a deep gratitude for the healing powers of nature.
