The documentary travels to interview the Yunnan– Myanmar border “Lost Army” and their descendants, using oral history to meticulously document how, after the Chinese Civil War, a group of Nationalist government troops who had been stranded along the Yunnan–Myanmar frontier fought desperately for survival. Through extensive oral interviews and archival research, the documentary gradually explores the experiences of these righteous compatriots, addressing issues such as social adaptation after arriving in Taiwan, ethnic differences, and questions of identity.
