In this documentary, the filmmaker follows his parents and a befriended couple on May 4th, as they commemorate the dead near the tri-border point in Vaals. He tries to persuade his father to cross the border—illegally—into the deeply hated neighboring country. A physically small, but mentally enormous step that leads to remarkable reflections.
