Biography

Dalibor Grubacevic is an award-winning composer whose work bridges classical cinematic tradition and modern production standards. Known for his sophisticated orchestral language and strong thematic writing, he has established himself as an internationally active film composer. In 2024, he received a prestigious nomination for the Camille Award (European Film Composer Awards) for his acclaimed score for the war drama The Conversation (2022). His work on the same film was further honored with the Crystal Pine Award for Best Original Score at the International Sound & Film Music Festival (ISFMF).

Grubacevic has built a substantial filmography, frequently collaborating on international projects featuring world-class talent. His recent work includes the international animated feature The Crystal Planet (2026), featuring Jeremy Irons, Vanessa Redgrave, and Michael York, for which he composed the original score. The project also includes a song by Diane Warren performed by Halle Bailey. He also composed the powerful orchestral score for 260 Days (2025), starring Academy Award nominee Tim Roth and Armand Assante, and the suspense thriller Vindicta (upcoming), which features a distinguished British ensemble including Pip Torrens, Sam Hazeldine, and Juliet Aubrey.

A hallmark of Grubacevic’s production is his frequent collaboration with the Budapest Scoring Orchestra, contributing to the large-scale orchestral sound of his scores. His diverse body of work spans feature films and documentaries, such as In Search of Marco Polo (2013), for which he won the prestigious Porin (Croatian Discography Award).

Often described as a "modern classicist," Grubacevic’s concert works have been performed internationally, spanning North America, Europe, and Asia. He is a full member of the Croatian Composers' Society (HDS) and the Croatian Freelance Artists' Association (HZSU). His film scores have been released on soundtrack albums and performed internationally. Dalibor Grubacevic continues to deliver emotionally resonant, carefully crafted scores across an expanding international body of work.
