"Night of the Demons" is a less than prestigious production and it seems to take much of its inspiration from films such as "The Evil Dead" (1981) with a small group of young people becoming trapped in a less than hospitable abandoned house where unspeakable evil dwells. There are admittedly some impressive make-up effects, but overall there is a listless quality to the whole proceedings and the mediocre shocks and scares just do not provide the sort of exciting pay-off they are obviously designed to produce.
