There's no end to family secrets
It's a roller coaste coming-of-age story. Focus is on the three kids thrown into extraordinary circumstances, which brings out best and worst in their relationship to themselves, each other, death and having to be/become an adult. Mum's corpse only appears briefly in the first episode, and the morbid aspects of the story are undertoned in relationship to the subtle humor.

Three siblings—Donna (16), Rianne (14), and Plet (11)—live with their mother on a smallholding in a cherry orchard. One freezing January morning, they find their mother lying dead on the kitchen floor, clutching four tickets to Barbados. The children decide to keep the death a secret and place her in the pantry, where it is bitterly cold. However, maintaining the charade proves demanding as friends, boyfriends, their neighbor Flejnert, and the outside world constantly intrude. The three children also discover that their mother harbored quite a few secrets; there are indications that her chaotic, love-filled life as a *Dansktop* singer, cherry grower, and stay-at-home mom was not the whole truth.
