Overview

‘Stressed’ is a BAFTA nominated and International award winning animated film directed, animated and art worked by Karen Kelly. The film follows the interwoven lives of residents in a London tenement block whose interactions have knock on effects on each other. If they had the time to show compassion and patience , perhaps they would not be so Stressed.

Though ostensibly set in a London tenement, this could just as readily apply to any community where it's residents live cheek-by-jowl with each other. Using a starkly and effectively contrasting series of vibrant animations, this introduces us to aspects of human nature that are as unpleasant as they are natural. What's also evident is that if only we were to take a few seconds to consider the effects of our behaviour on others, we might avoid something of our own emotional maelstrom that is so clearly demonstrated here.
